Now Fatima observes her brother die
And feels the sorrow in her magnify
As the result of the indignity
The evil lovers of iniquity
Had perpetrated. Fatima in tears
Collapses on her brother and the ears
Of all the villagers hear her lament.
But as the girl proclaims her discontent
The second squad arrived to force her back
And finish their despicable attack.
She sees them search the body as it lay
A victim of the violent display,
And feeling horror at such disrespect
She wonders if the family will collect
The body or will suffer even more
When the marines exacerbate the war
By keeping them from burying their kin.
The townfolk join her and the noisy din
That they create reveals the great distress
Which overwhelms them all with hopelessness.
