For many hours the grieving family
Pour out their sorrow and hostility,
And all the villagers extend support.
The witnesses agree in their report
That Qasim was completely innocent,
And no one could have thought that his intent
Was hostile towards marines in any way.
The violent and cowardly display
Of lethal force could not be understood
Or justified at all. So every good
Inhabitant protests the gross abuse
And everyone believes they can't induce
The enemy to let the corpse return,
And thus diminish family concern
That they will never bury their own kin.
Then as they grieve, they hear the whirring spin
Of helicopter rotors overhead.
Their hearts are full of overwhelming dread
As more marines invaded the town square
With the lieutenant colonel of despair.
